Nanga Parbat is known for its scenic beauty. The delight of travelling through the mountains and having a cup of tea in between the clouds is memorable. It is a 28 days journey from Islamabad to the meadows of Ultar and back. The trek is gentle and comparatively easy. You will reach to the maximum altitude of 3200 meters and there will be plenty of time to sit and enjoy the scenery.

Pakistan will welcome you with open arms as soon as you lay foot on its ground. Pakistan has a lot to offer owing to its cultural history. People are friendly and helping and it set the mood right away for the adventure you are about to begin.
We reach Besham by passing through the famous towns of Abbottabad and Mansehra. We then follow the river Indus upstream stopping at Shatilal rocks where you will find ancient graffiti encrypted on it. We arrive at Chilas after a long day trip and take accommodation to sustain the day.
The beautiful small town of Gilgit is a nice to place to be at. You will explore and experience the narrow roads and the bright bazaar by the bank of river Gilgit. The river offers a peaceful sight and a walk by the bank will make your day.
The jeeps will take you to Tarashing a small village on the way. This village in the northern area provide shelter for overnight before we leave for Rupal.
A day of walking through the lines of Tarashing Glacier will take you to Rupal where we camp for the night. The hush green surroundings are amazing to visit and you will enjoy your stay very much.
Shaigiri is mesmerizing with blossoming flowers spread across the terrain. It is the base camp for the teams climbing the Nanga Parbat. It is known as the Rupal face which is 4500 meters high, steep and deadly.
This is basically a free day to enjoy the beautiful peaks and sidewalks. After six days of journey this is the time to refill your boosters.
With the breathtaking views of Leila and Rupal peaks behind our back our next stop is a green campsite which offers a stream of running water. The views are photogenic and a lot of nice shots are promised at this location.
One climbs through the loose boulders and reaches the high camp of Mazino. The en route Mazino is just ahead and can be seen from the camp but it is advised to rest before taking this short track and crossing the pass.
It is one of the few tough climbs in the journey. After Mazino pass we decend into Bunar region. You will have to use safety ropes to climb through the open and hidden crevasses on the slope. There is a stream available to camp overnight after the tough climb.
We descend to the green meadows and birch woods up to the Iril to reach Kachal.
A lovely climb through the birch trees to Kutgali. It is the last village on the Diamer face of Nanga Parbat. Camping on the green plateau in between a variety of alpine flowers is rewarding.
Welcome to the most popular climbing route of Nanga Parbat. You will be provided with telescopes and binoculars to witness the beauty of the whole face of Nanga Parbat.
After a walk of four hours we reach Kachal where we rest and prepare for the tough climb the very next day.
Today the hike is steep and there is scarcity of water and shelter. After crossing Kachal Gali and descending into Patro valley which leads to Gonar farm we will camp at Summer Shepherd’s Settlement.
We arrive at a place called Jungle after a few hours of walk and camp across the river Patro in the Jungle.
After a quick walk through pinewoods, the fields of maize and barley welcome the visitors with a stunning view of Ganalo peak. We camp in a high pasture for the night.
Again a steep climb but at the end of it we are greeted with a small lake with a waterfall.
You will have to cross the Jilipur pass to reach the Raikot valley. You will also witness a spectacular view of Nanga Parbat massif from the pass. After walking down the steep descends of Raikot valley we reach at Beyal and camp overnight.
Rest for the day and enjoy the magnificent view of Nanga Parbat from the Beyal Camp.
We cross the tails of glaciers to reach the monument erected in the memory of the climbers who died in the arms of the mountain. The Fairy Meadows is an easy walk from Beyal. It offers a great view and an overwhelming feeling of achievement. We camp overnight in the meadows with campfire, dance and music.
Tato valley must be crossed to reach Muthat, a village near the Fairy Meadows.
Buldar Glacier is on the way as we reach the high camp for Muthat pass. There is a glorious view of the mountains surrounding the camp.
Camping on the ridge of Rama is a heart whelming experience but a trek through the Muthat pass a walk down the Lotang glacier is required to reach the place.
The great expedition ends today. We camp beside the Rama lake and recollect memories and experience of a month long trek.
A jeep will take us from Rama lake to Chilas flaunting the beautiful scenery and snow white mountains.
After departing from Chilas early in the morning we follow the river Indus to reach Islamabad by evening.
